Terms and Conditions of Use

License and Site Access

Tarrant Appraisal District ("TAD") will provide its Online User Account ("account") services to you, the property owner ("owner") or authorized agent ("agent") of the parcel(s) for which you are the owner or agent, which are subject to the conditions stated in this document. Every time you use these account services, you accept the following conditions. You must either be (1) the current property owner or (2) the authorized agent (as defined by the Texas Property Tax Code Sec. 1.111 - REPRESENTATION OF PROPERTY OWNER) of a specific parcel to access its confidential and/or proprietary information on this website. At its sole discretion, TAD reserves all rights to suspend, edit, remove, or terminate an online account or any portion of its content if it is deemed potentially harmful to the stability or security of TAD.org. For the purposes of this agreement, an agent is one that is authorized by the Texas Property Tax Code ("Code") Sec. 1.111 - REPRESENTATION OF PROPERTY OWNER. TAD reserves the right to add, change, and/or delete all or portions of these terms and conditions as necessary for compliance with the Code and other related statutes.

Online User Account and Property-Specific PIN

As the owner or agent of a property located in Tarrant County that is potentially subject to ad valorem taxation ("property taxes") who has chosen to maintain an account on TAD.org, you are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your private user detail ("password"), the currency of your contact information ("email address") and for all activities that occur under your account. Only the owner of record is entitled to the unique, parcel-specific, Online Account PIN ("PIN") associated with the account that allows for access to related documents, evidence, announcements and functions. The PIN is provided via the United States Postal Service to the owner of record at their address of record or in person with a valid government photo ID. TAD is not responsible should the owner choose to give the PIN to an individual not properly authorized according to the Code. Agents do not use the PIN for online access. Agents are provided online access to the documents, evidence, announcements and functions afforded to them as the owner's representative once the corresponding parcel's Appointment of Agent form is received/processed by TAD.

Electronic Communications

You agree that any item from tax year 2020 or later including a file, document, notice, rendition, application form, completed application, information requested under Code Section 41.461(a)(2), or otherwise, that is required or permitted by the code to be delivered between TAD and/or its Chief Appraiser, the Tarrant Appraisal Review Board ("TARB"), or any combination of those organizations/persons and you, may be delivered to you by way of your online account in addition to, or in some cases in lieu of, delivery by the United States Postal Service. The organizations and/or persons described above will inform you of new electronic communications by sending an email announcement to you at the email address (to be) provided when you establish(ed) your account. Email announcements routed by your email program or service provider to your "Junk", "Spam", or other folders that are not your primary "Inbox" are not the responsibility of TAD and do not invalidate electronic delivery, nor does an inability by you to access TAD.org or portions of it due to maintenance, personal computing device limitations, internet service outages, web browser incompatibility, or other technological difficulty.

Closing Your Online Account

You agree that if at some point in the future you choose to close your account, you will contact us stating such and will provide a requested effective date for the account's closure. Please do not "Unsubscribe" directly from an email announcement or report an email announcement as "Junk" or "Spam" to your email program or service provider.

Online User Account Upload Content

Owners and agents may upload content where permitted as long as it is not obscene, illegal, defamatory, threatening, infringing of intellectual property rights, invasive of privacy or injurious in any other way to third parties. Content has to be free of software viruses, harmful hyperlinks, political campaigning, commercial solicitation, or any other matter not directly related to that particular property's valuation. TAD reserves all rights, but not the obligation, to remove or edit content not in compliance with these restrictions.
